Magicbox launches a docking, DAB, internet-radio with Wi-Fi connectivity, enabling users to stream music or podcasts from around the world or their own computer

Magicbox, designer and manufacturer of stylish communication and audio products, today announced the launch of its flagship docking, DAB, Internet radio with Wi-Fi connectivity - The Beam. Designed to combine elegant style with advanced wireless technology, users are able to stream music and podcasts stored on their computer or the Internet from a powerful, scintillating piece of audio furniture.

Providing so many different ways to access music, the Beam, has been designed for music lovers that don't want to be restricted when it comes to music choice. As well as having a DAB radio that one would expect, users have access to a whole world of music, with over 11,000 Internet radio stations to choose from, as well as pre-recorded podcasts and 'listen again' content.

The iPod and iPhone docking station enables access to music libraries, whilst charging all versions of the popular Apple products. Music from other generic MP3 players can also be accessed using the audio in jack provided.

As well as providing a multitude of channels to access music content, the Beam delivers optimum sound performance and clarity by containing two high-powered, ten-watt speakers. Extensive sound tests by audio experts ensure that the Beam delivers a well-balanced, aural experience with vocal clarity and bass response.

Simplicity and ease of use has been considered in the design of the 3.5 inch, colour TFT touch-screen interface, with the applications being clearly labeled and touch sensitive. Other features include a digital alarm clock with sleep and snooze, where sleepers can also select their favorite radio stations for the ultimate wake up call. There is also an FM radio receptor with RDS, enabling users to easily read the track and station names that they have selected. Navigating to preferred stations is also quick and straightforward as users can save up to twenty presets.

With its stylish, black matte and gloss finishes, the Beam can take centre stage in the modern home. Users also have the option to remove the base of the Beam and mount it onto a wall, as a handy wall bracket is included in the box. The remote control also means that users can relax comfortably while flicking through their music.

Pricing and availability
The Beam will be available from the 15th September for £179.99.
